Herbal and Gem Guides for Shadow Work – Nov 13th

November 13 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
$40.00

Exploring the hidden self through the wisdom of plants, flowers, and stones

Within each of us are hidden landscapes waiting to be explored. Shadow work is the practice of gently turning toward the parts of ourselves we may have suppressed, forgotten, or learned to hide. Through this process, we can uncover old patterns, embrace our complexities, and discover the wisdom that lives within our shadows.

For centuries, plants and stones have been associated with protection, transformation, intuition, courage, and healing. In this class, we’ll explore how these botanical and mineral allies can accompany us on a journey of self-discovery.

This class will focus on herbs, flowers, and stones that can help guide you on your shadow work path. We will sit in meditation to meet a few, but mostly we will be learning about them in order to incorporate them into our own self-guided work outside of class.

Some of the energies that will be introduced include: elderberry, mugwort, pomegranate, datura, motherwort, rhodochrosite, smoky quartz, and labradorite.

Together, we’ll explore the folklore, traditional associations, and spiritual uses of these plants and stones, along with ways to incorporate them into personal rituals, meditation, dreamwork, and reflective practices.

Come with curiosity, an open heart, and a willingness to explore the beautiful mysteries within yourself. No previous experience with herbalism or shadow work is necessary.

About the herbalist

Leland’s work with plants began in childhood, guided by her mother and the old ways of Northern Italy. She later completed formal training at the Berkeley Herbal Center, including a year-long intensive clinical program and a year of mentored clinical practice. She now teaches there as part of the faculty. Her herbal education also includes studies with Scott Kloos, the Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine, and practitioner training with Flower Essence Studies.
